Reading Create task 11/8/21

Sorry I couldn't post anything last week, it was a busy busy week! But this week and last week we were learning about Olympians! Each book we chose were something to do with the Olympics the book I chose is "Chicken Olympics" its is about 2 girls Ruby and Ella they set up funny little competitions for their chickens!

but then we got 2 arterial one was about the olden days Olympics and now a days Olympics. And did you know in ancient Olympics there were only 10 sports?

then the other one was about 14 Olympians I chose Eliza McCartney the other 13 were: Valery Adams, Sarah Walker, Danyon loader, Ian Ferguson, Sarah Ulmer, Sir Mark Todd, Sophie Pascoe, Mahe Drysdale, Sir John Walker, Yuette Corlette nee Williams, Barbara Kendall and Dylan schmidt, but why did I choose Eliza McCartney? you can find out in my create task No.1, I hope you enjoy and find this interesting too!

This is my create task 2, we had to chose a country and then write 20 facts about it. I chose Australia, I didn't finish my create task 2 though.

 20 facts

  1.  50 Aussies are competing in the 2021 Olympics.   

  2. Australia won 46 medals in the 2021 Olympics.

  3. They have 17 gold medals, 7 silver and 22 bronze. 

  4. Australia’s best sport is swimming 

  5. Australia’s best swimmer is Ian james Thorpe 

  6. Emma McKeon has become Australia's most successful girl Olympian

  7. Australia has won 15 Winter Olympic medals

  8. Australia has hosted two Games 

  9. Australia has competed in every summer game.


  10. Australia competed in all sports except baseball, fencing, handball and wrestling.

  11. Edwin Flack was the first athlete to represent Australia at the Olympics. He won the 800 meters and 1500 meters

    Great facts about Australia and I love that you chose Eliza McCartney as she did so well at the Olympics last time and has been so plagues by injury this time around. She is really demonstrating her resilience. What surprised or impressed you the most?

    I remember watching Eliza McCartney at the Rio Olympics on TV, achieving her bronze medal. Australia are most definitely very successful at the Olympics, and you have noted some pretty impressive facts. You have done some great work here, do you know if Eliza has any other amazing achievements during her sporting career? I hope you enjoyed learning about her and some Australian Olympic facts.
