Reading Create task 11/8/21

Sorry I couldn't post anything last week, it was a busy busy week! But this week and last week we were learning about Olympians! Each book we chose were something to do with the Olympics the book I chose is "Chicken Olympics" its is about 2 girls Ruby and Ella they set up funny little competitions for their chickens!

but then we got 2 arterial one was about the olden days Olympics and now a days Olympics. And did you know in ancient Olympics there were only 10 sports?

then the other one was about 14 Olympians I chose Eliza McCartney the other 13 were: Valery Adams, Sarah Walker, Danyon loader, Ian Ferguson, Sarah Ulmer, Sir Mark Todd, Sophie Pascoe, Mahe Drysdale, Sir John Walker, Yuette Corlette nee Williams, Barbara Kendall and Dylan schmidt, but why did I choose Eliza McCartney? you can find out in my create task No.1, I hope you enjoy and find this interesting too!

This is my create task 2, we had to chose a country and then write 20 facts about it. I chose Australia, I didn't finish my create task 2 though.

 20 facts

1.  50 Aussies are competing in the 2021 Olympics.   

2. Australia won 46 medals in the 2021 Olympics.

3. They have 17 gold medals, 7 silver and 22 bronze. 

4. Australia’s best sport is swimming 

5. Australia’s best swimmer is Ian james Thorpe 

6. Emma McKeon has become Australia's most successful girl Olympian

7. Australia has won 15 Winter Olympic medals

8. Australia has hosted two Games 

9. Australia has competed in every summer game.

11. Australia competed in all sports except baseball, fencing, handball and wrestling.

12. Edwin Flack was the first athlete to represent Australia at the Olympics. He won the 800 meters and 1500 meters

Reading BORING!

 This week we have been looking at plays. The title of my play is "BORING!" We have many other book choices: Professor Clever, Fish for dinner, The great bank robbery, Superglue, Sing your heart out,Guests for dinner, The repair shop, Any excuse, A better life, What is it? and Belladonna. Their is also a big play about the magic school bus going to Italy it will be featuring all of Ruru.  The people in my play are Karitiana= pirate 2, Polly= pirate 1, Jf=Alex, Victoria= princess And Renae= Knight and also Hannaneh= alien.

we only had one create task. WALT recognise texts are constructed for different purposes, audiences and situations. My create task has a summery of my story and a design of my costume and why i designed it like that! I hope you enjoy!!

Albert Einstein Reading Create task

 Hi Readers,

This is this weeks Create task! The book that I chose is about Albert Einstein out of Amelia Earhart, Walt Disney, Nelson Mandela Mather, Luther king Anne frank, Alexander graham belle and Thomas Edison. The first box is about the main text, the 2 box is the connection between the main text and the complementary text, the second is the same too but it is connected to the challenge text.

Cybersmarts Private or Personal information

Today we did some cybersmarts about Private or Personal. Knowing the difference between the two will help you keep safe online!

What i found hard was where to put everything, because it looked very stuffed and full. 

This was totally ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5 for learning but it was a ⭐⭐✩✩✩ 2 out of 5 for enjoyment because it took a lot of time but we had not that much time, here is mine. 

Reading Create task

Hey Readers,

WALT: Locate and summarise important information from a range of related texts.

This is my create task 1 sorry it came out late it is because the video was not working before and now it is, but I still gave it a shot after our amazing Mrs Lee fixed it. this is about nelson Mandela. we had to choose one famous person we had to read about but i choose Nelson Mandela, and i say all people should be treated the same!

I hope you feel inspired because that's what my next create task is about.

Witting Compound sentences

 Hi writers,

Today our writing was about compound sentences. In a compound sentence there is a verb a fanboy and a noun.

Here is my example of a fanboy.

B-but

Y-yet

S-so

Here is my Compound sentences.

Each person will write 5 simple sentences.

Once they are completed you will finish the simple sentence by adding a FANBOYS word (or other conjunction) and make it into a compound sentence.

Highlight: Noun   Verb   FANBOYS

The sun is shining.	but it is still cold.
I like food.	but I am not hungry.
I like books.	but I have no favourites.
It is hailing.	and it is raining.
I like kites.	but my kite is broken
A dog is running to me.	but I struggle to run.

     

Reading Matariki 24/6/2021

 Hi readers, 

This is today's create task and this is the WALT: Summarise and analyse ideas and information from different text.

 We had to look into 2 videos and read 2 other texts. Then we had to write down what happened into a google doc  in 4 individual boxes. once we had finished that we could chose 2 out of 4 things

Matariki is a family of stars. Symbolises the moari new year. The mother of the 7 sisters is Ranginui and the father is papa tu Enuku.

#2:

Matariki is the eldest of the 7 sisters. The matariki is when the crops' food starts to grow or the fishermen catch many fishes. Matariki guides her sisters.

This website is teaching us that matariki is not a constellation, it is a cluster. Matariki is one of the star clusters nearest to Earth. Matariki is close to Earth ,but it’s still 440 light years away.
