Reading 9/6/2021

This weeks WALT is synthesis ideas and information in a narrative text. The topic of this week is fairy tales/fable. Our writing is about fairy tales too.

My main story/book choice is about Goldilocks but there is a twist, baby bear is not a bear he is a lamb and why is lil bo peep here? wait that is not lil bo peep that is the big bad WOLF hey Goldilocks is here she says go away wolf the wolf thinking about going to the red hens story!!

My challenge text is kinda like the original little red riding hood. Red riding hood’s mother said go and get some raspberries. She went and found some. on her way back, she came across wolf and said give me some berries. Red riding hood paused so the wolf started to chase lil red, lil red ran up a tree. The wolf said i am just very hungry, the wolf’s tummy growled so lil red shared her berries.  

And last but certainly not least my complimentary Girl gets lost and come across a small house there is a big bowl a medium bowl and a small bowl the first two were either to hot or cold but the small one was just right so she ate it all up. Next she found 3 chairs she went to sit in the first two the both were not right, the smallest chair was just right but when she started to get comfy it collapsed and broke. So she found 3 beds the two were not feeling right she then fell fast asleep on the 3rd bed the 3 bears came back home and found Goldilocks asleep!

Reading create task 28/5/21 Term 2

Hi Readers, this weeks WALT is: Use prior knowledge when making text to text connections.

My book choice is called the hungry wave it is about a big tsunami hitting a village, the main characters are Ana and Sina (which is the mum) and their brothers Mika and Niko the problem is a tsunami came to their village the solution is that they ran to a higher level of ground. 

My Complementary text is about tsunami here is what i learnt, do you know that tsunamis can be 30 m tall? Do you know that tsunamis are caused by earthquakes, landslide volcano eruptions and meteorite’s? Tsunamis can travel 500 miles per hour. When the waves reach land it starts to get deeper and deeper leading into destruction.

My challenge text is all about A girl who makes a tornado. She uses two bottles and adds water and flips it. While it drains really quickly it starts increasing the speed making the water spin and wallah a tornado, but underwater.

27/5/2021 Number lines

 WALT Read a rod track to find patterns. Today we had to find how to skip count all the way to 50 with out any extras spaces or extra blocks.

 Try and find out many different ways to skip count all the way to 50!!!

Wk3 T2 Reading 19/5/21

Hi viewers this is about my reading .Walt use prior knowledge when making text- to-text connections. I learned these things from my challenge text,complementary text and my book choice.this is what i learnt from my challenge text,Floods are very dangerous they usually happen on a dry area of land you,there are 4 types of Floods, Flash  Flood, Rapid  Flood, slow onset Flood,  Flood storm and surge Flood.my book choice is about a girl called Ama and her mum,their house got flooded and Ama's sister Annie and their dad was stuck in wellington so mum suggested that they would go to their grandparents house which was on a higher ground. My complementary text is about a boy named Gus, his mother told  him “how was school? We were doing science and suddenly the room filled up with water. The class hopped on the tables and the teacher said “head to the gym”  when we got there it was full of water too they opened the front doors the whole front yard has turned into a sea the cops and the firefighters came to.

Wk1 T2 Reading

WALT evaluate ideas and information in a narrative text.

This week the book I chose is weird zone. It is all about a divorced dad and a 2 kids they set of camping. Dad is acting weird again and the kids help him with the tent they ask him why he is acting weird “I am not used to mum gone she usually does al the house work” he cries. my challenge text is about a field mouse and a buffalo a field mouse challenge’s the buffalo, the mouse runs up to the buffalo’s ear the buffalo falls and dies then a fox comes along and asks for some meat he asks for a head intestines and four feet of the buffalo. My complimentary text is a site for new Zealanders to see different parts if the country.
